Kettering hits 40% recycling!
Back in September 2004, Kettering Borough Council rolled out their new recycling services to half the households across the region and with the help of a high-profile public awareness campaign developed by EnviroComms, increased their recycling rate from 3% to 17% in just 7 weeks.
18 months on and with the remainder of households now on the scheme and a further extension to the awareness campaign, they have hit the milestone of 40% recycling with the communication activity being cited as a major contributory factor to this success.
EnviroComms recently developed additional campaign material including radio advertising, billboards and press which should help push Kettering even further up the recycling league tables.
Kettering Borough Council’s Waste and Recycling Education Officer, Mara Lloyd is naturally pleased with the efforts of EnviroComms: “they have consistently delivered, developing the campaign with outstanding results and always in tune with the key issues and what we really need”.
